Part I “Walk” - in the gardens of Chenonceau castle along the Cher river in the Loire valley, under the early evening sunlight, the “golden hour,” shortly before closing, so we avoided the usual large crowd of visitors, as this is one of the most popular castles in the area.
I observed the bright green of new boxwood leaves, a broad footpath lined with monumental plane trees that must be at least 100 years old, the multiple colors of foxglove and roses in the gardens, and a large heron perched on one of the plane tree branches that seemed to be waiting for is to leave so he could enjoy fishing in the streams nearby. - Lorraine, Tilbury
