Psychologist Ellen Langer Ph.D. has conducted many fascinating experiments over the years. The most well-known, perhaps, is described in Counterclockwise: Mindful Health and the Power of Possibility (2009), where she describes how a group of older men lived for a week as though it was 20 years earlier and showed dramatic improvements in their hearing, memory, dexterity, appetite, and general well-being. For Langer, mindfulness is, “the simple process of actively noticing things, no meditation required.” Based on her research, she works from the premise that our minds and bodies mutually affect each other in more ways than we believe. Here is a recent podcast where she is interviewed about her book by one of our members and AMP Collaborators, Dorian Mintzer: https://revolutionizeyourretirementradio.buzzsprout.com/1881506/13515019-the-mindful-body-thinking-our-way-to-chronic-health-with-dorian-mintzer-and-ellen-langer
