Now that is an approach I understand. I was looking at it from a different point of view but I will try active listening and try to avoid projecting my own answers onto them. Thanks for responding!

I keep looking for a way to add my thoughts about what is an ageless mind. First I have to find this mind I have looked for over 50 years and I still cant find it. There are thoughts and there is silence. From my explorations I have found the silence without a thinker,or a thought. And yet there is awareness and as Eckhardt Tolle says there is Presence. It is this presence this awareness that is truly ageless Every other thought activity comes and goes. It ages Silence and space do not age

I loved this article! I was reminded of so many wonderful way nature be-friends us. The plants that thrive in spite of us. Thank you for such a gentle reminder.

What I think you should do is not the important question. What nudges do you sense? More importantly have you asked the plants?

Plants have sentience, they communicate, and it sounds like relationships have been forged.

So, active listening could be a mindful in-the-moment action.

I realize I'm a mere pup in some eyes, upcoming on 70. The only thing I've ever forged a 50+ year relationship with is books. Books don't depend upon me to survive, so I'm guessing that's a factor in my relationship with them, as well as my penchant for becoming enmeshed in them as I read.

I know plants have sentience from the grade school life science experiments (two that stand out in my memory) I had to do to be graded.

1) The seeking of a seeds roots and shoot downwards and towards the light.

2) The response of plants to being yelled at, and talked gently to.

I stand behind asking the plants your question. And wait in a curious space for a response.

The SL avatar in me tosses popcorn.

I enjoyed this so much. Each of my plants has a personality and a particular way it likes to be cared for.
