The Zen of Floofles
The cat distribution system makes its own rules.
If you think you can beat it, you’re simply a fool.
On my daily walk around the lawn,
Where I can often see does and fawns,
The CDS sent me a floof and five babies,
My first thought, a spoof, maybe?
But I realized they were a family of ferals,
It was clear they had me over a barrel.
Eight years since, and all have been weaned,
Mommy taught them to keep themselves cleaned.
I left a trail of food to our back door,
Trapped, neutered released, so she couldn’t have more.
Her name is Floofles, and to this very day,
She comes nightly for dinner, then goes back astray.
After all this time, I’ve learned so much,
Feeders, motion cameras, patience, and such.
All this to say, keep daily walks in mind.
